Compare the total trip budget, not only the advertised programme price
A low headline can exclude costs that nearly every participant must pay. Before booking, place every mandatory item and every likely optional item in one written budget.
Guides, programme operations and group safety
Confirm the guide structure, acclimatisation, refuge operation, group registration, communication and first-aid arrangements.
Valley package and high-altitude refuge
State the room or campsite category, planned nights, occupancy and meals rather than using the word “accommodation” alone.
Transfers, cable car and public fees
Each mandatory transport or access charge belongs either inside the programme price or in a clearly labelled mandatory budget line.
Rental, deposits and missing items
Price the actual equipment needed after reviewing what the participant already owns. A deposit is not the same as a rental charge.
Snowcat, private transfers and room upgrades
Optional services should remain separate and should never be presented as necessary for summit success.
Insurance, valley meals and contingencies
Include realistic personal spending and verify insurance requirements and coverage directly with the provider.
The quote should answer six questions
- What is included for every participant?
- Which charges are mandatory but paid separately?
- Which services are genuinely optional?
- What changes between accommodation packages?
- When is each payment due and what is refundable?
- What is the expected total before personal spending?
Live prices are not shown until supplier rates, mandatory fees, taxes and availability are confirmed. That prevents a misleading total rather than hiding a surcharge.
